📞 Voice Interface

How do I use the voice interface?

Just call (970) 645-3365 from any phone. The system will ask for your 4-digit PIN, then you can speak naturally to create invoices, check payments, and manage your billing. No app required!

What can I do by voice?

You can:

  • Create invoices: "Create an invoice for $2,400 to ABC Company"
  • Check invoices: "List my recent invoices"
  • Check payments: "Did ABC Company pay yet?"
  • Record expenses: "I spent $150 at Home Depot"
  • Check balance: "What's my Stripe balance?"
  • And more coming soon!

Does it work with any phone?

Yes! Works with flip phones, smartphones, landlines - any phone that can make calls. No app or data plan needed.

Can I use it while driving?

Yes! That's exactly what it's designed for. Hands-free, eyes-free billing. Create invoices while driving between job sites, completely safe and legal.

How fast is it?

Response time is under 1 second. You can have a natural conversation just like talking to a person. The AI understands context and can interrupt you if needed.

Does it speak Spanish?

Yes! The AI can understand and respond in Spanish. Just start speaking in Spanish and it will switch automatically. Full bilingual support.

🔗 Connecting Your Accounts

How do I connect my Stripe/PayPal account?

Super simple - 2 clicks:

  1. Go to your dashboard and click [Connect Stripe]
  2. Login to Stripe (if not already logged in)
  3. Click [Authorize]
  4. Done! You'll see "✓ Connected"

Total time: about 30 seconds. Same process for PayPal, QuickBooks, and Square.

Do I need to share my password with Billing.net?

No! You enter your password on Stripe's website (or PayPal's, etc.), never on ours. We never see your password. This is called OAuth - the same technology used by "Sign in with Google" buttons.

Do I need to copy API keys?

Nope! No copying, pasting, or managing API keys. The OAuth flow handles everything automatically. Just click Connect and authorize.

Can Billing.net access all my money?

No! We can only do what you explicitly authorize:

  • ✓ Create invoices
  • ✓ View payments
  • ✓ Read customer data
  • ✗ Cannot withdraw money
  • ✗ Cannot change account settings
  • ✗ Cannot delete data

Stripe/PayPal show you exactly what permissions we're requesting before you authorize.

How do I disconnect?

Go to your dashboard and click [Disconnect] next to the provider. Instant. You can also revoke access from Stripe/PayPal's own dashboard.

What if I change my Stripe password?

Your connection still works! OAuth tokens are separate from passwords. You don't need to reconnect.

🔐 Security & Privacy

How secure is the PIN authentication?

Your 4-digit PIN is hashed with bcrypt (industry standard). We also use:

  • Caller ID verification
  • Rate limiting (5 failed attempts = 15 minute lockout)
  • Encrypted database storage
  • SSL/TLS for all connections

How are my credentials stored?

All OAuth tokens are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before storage. The encryption key is stored separately from the database. Even if someone got the database, they couldn't decrypt your tokens.

Can someone spoof my phone number?

Even if they spoof your Caller ID, they still need your PIN to access your account. That's why we have two-factor security: phone number + PIN.

Are my calls recorded?

We log call metadata (who called, when, what actions were taken) but we don't record audio. Transcripts are stored for your reference and can be deleted anytime.

Who can see my data?

Only you and authorized team members (if you have a Business plan). Our staff cannot access your financial data. All access is logged for audit purposes.

How are minutes calculated?

Simple: actual talk time. A 5-minute call = 5 minutes used. Includes time the AI is talking to you. Your monthly minutes reset on the 1st of each month.

What if I go over my minutes?

You can buy prepaid minute packs anytime: 50 minutes for $20, 100 minutes for $40. Or overage is automatically charged at $0.30/min (Pro) or $0.20/min (Business).

Are AI integrations (Siri, ChatGPT) free?

Yes! When you use Siri Shortcuts, ChatGPT, or other AI integrations, those are completely free. You only pay for premium voice calling at (970) 645-3365.

Do you take a percentage of my invoices?

Never! We're not a payment processor. You pay us a flat monthly fee, that's it. All your invoice money goes directly to your Stripe/PayPal account. We never touch it.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes! Cancel anytime, no questions asked. Your provider connections will continue working until the end of your billing period.

What payment methods do you accept?

Credit card, debit card. We use Stripe for billing (ironic, right?). No PayPal for subscriptions yet.

⚙️ Technical Questions

What is MCP?

Model Context Protocol - a standard for AI agents to access tools and data. We're building an MCP server so other AI assistants (like Claude Desktop) can use your billing data. Learn more at /developers.

Can I use Billing.net with my own AI assistant?

Yes! We expose an MCP server that any MCP-compatible AI can connect to. See our developer docs for integration guides.

Is there an API?

Yes! Full REST API + MCP server. Documentation at billing.net/docs. Free for all plans.

Can I self-host?

Yes! We're open source (MIT license). Full self-hosting guides at GitHub. You'll need your own Twilio/OpenAI accounts.

Which AI model do you use?

OpenAI's GPT-4o Realtime for voice (ultra-low latency). We're provider-agnostic and may add Claude/Gemini options in the future.

I'm a plumber/electrician/HVAC tech. Is this for me?

Yes! That's exactly who we built this for. If you have dirty hands, wear gloves, or drive between jobs, this will save you hours every week.

Do I need a smartphone?

Nope! Works with any phone. Many contractors use flip phones - totally fine.

What if I already use QuickBooks?

Perfect! Connect your QuickBooks account and invoices created by voice will automatically sync. No duplicate entry, no export/import hassle.

Can my crew use it too?

Yes! Business plan ($79/mo) includes 5 users. Each crew member gets their own PIN and phone access with different permissions (create invoices, log time, etc.).

Does it track mileage?

Coming soon! We're adding mileage tracking, time tracking, and photo attachments. For now it's invoices, expenses, and payment checking.
